Went to the Wikipedia page on the women’s tournament

The NCAA began the women’s tournament in 1982 (a different organization ran it before 1982).

Since 1982, 15 different schools have won the national championship (of 38 tournaments). There have been 8 one time champions, so 7 teams have won the other 30. Four teams have won it twice- La Tech, USC, Stanford, and Notre Dame. That leaves 22 championships, which have been won by three teams- Baylor (3), Tennessee (8), and UConn (11).

On the men’s side, 20 teams have won since 1982- the most being five.

In the NCAA tournament:
1 vs 16- 107-1
2 vs 15- 108-0
3 vs 14- 108-0
4 vs 13- 101-7
Second round:
1 vs 8- 48-1
1 vs 9- 52-2
